How to Turn Off SafeSearch on Google

Have you tried searching for something on Google and found the results too bland or not showing up? Then, chances are that the SafeSearch feature is active. Do you want to learn how to turn off SafeSearch and get the results you’re looking for? Here’s how to do it.

What Content Is Blocked by SafeSearch?

SafeSearch blocks explicit content, such as pornography, violence, and other adult-themed material. It includes but is not limited to pornography, sexual content, violence, and hate speech.

This feature helps protect younger users or those who don’t want to see such content. It also protects you from stumbling upon inappropriate content by accident. Moreover, it maintains a safe and respectful online environment for all users.

But, it can also hinder those who need help finding information related to these topics. SafeSearch also blocks results that are inappropriate based on Google’s algorithm.

Disabling SafeSearch will allow users to see search results with explicit, mature, or controversial content. It’s not always bad because it can help in situations such as:

  • Researchers and scholars may need to find information on sensitive or controversial subjects.
  • Photographers, artists, and writers may need inspiration or references from explicit content.
  • Marketers and the media may need access to non-explicit content for their work.
