Friendship Status? Look at How I Managed My Snapchat Planets

The Snapchat app page open in Apple's App Store.

Key Takeaway:

  • To enable friendship solar systems on Snapchat, tap your Bitmoji to open your profile. Then, go to Snapchat+ and toggle on Solar System.
  • Each planet represents the friends you interact with most on Snapchat, according to their order from the sun.
  • Snapchat planets are only available to Snapchat Plus subscribers.

If you have access to Snapchat Plus, you can enable Snapchat planets to see the friends you interact with the most on the app. It was previously enabled by default, but premium users must now turn on the feature manually. If you don’t know how to do that, see how I managed my Snapchat solar system and viewed my friends’ planets.

Enable/Disable Snapchat Planets

At first, the Snapchat planets feature was turned on by default for premium subscribers. However, due to public concerns, the developers decided to disable it by default. Subscribers can still enable it to view their top 8 friends if they choose to. Here’s how.

On the upper-left corner of your screen, tap your Bitmoji to open your profile.

Choose Snapchat+.

If you haven’t subscribed to Snapchat Plus yet, proceed to setup your payment information and other relevant account details.

Once done, scroll down and toggle on the Solar System feature. On the pop-up dialog box that appears, tap Okay.

After the Solar System toggle button turns blue, you’ll see your top 8 friends seated on their respective planets.

The Snapchat solar system visualizes the number of interactions you’ve had with your friends through our eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Your profile acts as the sun while the friend you’ve interacted with the most will be seated on Mercury, followed by Venus, and so on.

Checking Your Friends’ Solar Systems

Due to privacy concerns, you won’t be able to check your complete best friend list. However, Snapchat Plus will tell you your position on their solar system. Follow the steps below to check your friendship status with each other.

On the top-left corner of your screen, tap your Bitmoji to open your profile. Scroll down and choose My Friends to see your complete friends list.

Tap the name of your friend. On the upper left of your chat window, select their Bitmoji. You’ll see a Best Friend or Friend badge if you’ve interacted with them multiple times. Select this badge.

You should now see your friend as the sun on their Snapchat solar system. Your profile will then be seated on one of the eight planets based on the number of your interactions.

Note: Best Friend badges appear when you’re on each other’s solar system. Meanwhile, a Friend badge shows up when you’re in theirs, but they’re not on your best friends list.

That’s all for using Snapchat planets. To interact with your friends and best friends better, you might want to learn how to remix a snap or how to send snaps with a cartoon face lens on Snapchat.
